New DVD from Real-Self-Defense

The video I like most of all the videos I worked on, or was featured in, is finally released on DVD. Yes, the DVD Self-Defense: Tools of Attack is available at www.real-self-defense.com.

The chief demonstrator on this video, G. S., for me is a model fighter. This is what I see on this DVD:

No-nonsense techniques of using diverse weapons—all actions unified by excellent body mechanics, minimal exposure to counters, power of delivery—all marks of high mastery that all combat sports athletes and martial artists should emulate. This is the way to practice. This is the way to streamline techniques, to maximize their effectiveness, to unify yourself with the techniques, to really make them your own. . . .

You don't have to take just my word for it. Here is an excerpt from a review by Rev. A. Bodhi Chenevey, RM, DD, at www.iainabernethy.com:

“The actions with the impact weapons (short, heavy club, blackjack and a short piece of hydraulic hose) had short, tight powerful movements, using the entire body behind each subtle application. Combined, G. S.’s maneuvering was simultaneously devastating and deceptive in his delivery.”

MESSER MAGAZIN
“The frame of this umbrella is extremely strong. While walking around the city with a sword is unthinkable (and illegal), this umbrella even fits a business suit.

“An excellent investment in terms of defense and rain protection. Stick fighting capability also distinguishes the well-made and surprisingly hefty `self-defense umbrella' (www.selbstverteidigungsschirm.com; EUR 139.00), which has a lifetime warranty.”—Messer Magazin in its special July 2011 issue of Schwert & Klinge (Sword and Blade), in an article on Bartitsu.

MSN Tech&Gadgets
“This could be the only brolly you ever need. Not only is it strong enough to support the weight of a fully-grown man, it can also be used as a self-defence weapon.

“When wielded with appropriate force it can strike with the power of a steel pipe, and has even become a weapon of choice for the personal security guards of the president of the Philippines. It will keep the rain off, too.”—MSN Tech&Gadgets, February 1, 2011.

Fuji Television Network  (Japan) featured the Unbreakable Umbrella in its program called WORLD'S NEWS. The program features amazing people, events and products from all over the world. It aired in September.

The Unbreakable Umbrella works just as well as a walking stick or cane but does not make you look funny or feel awkward. Whacks just as strong as a steel pipe but it weighs only 1 lb. and 11 oz. (775 g).

  • Legal to carry everywhere
  • Never raises suspicions
  • Does not make you look silly (no strange looks if carried by an able-bodied person)

Do you know how to swing a baseball bat? Do you know how to strike with a sturdy stick? If you do, you know all you need to know...

“As a Defensive Tactics Instructor and one who works with law enforcement and military personnel, I am usually quite critical of `self-defense fads.' However, I don't feel this product falls into that category. I think it would make for a very viable self-defense adjunct in someone's arsenal. It is a very innocuous utilitarian object that most people would not look twice at. That is, until they felt it's capabilities first hand.” —Mike McGuire, Edmonton, Alberta

What Others Say About Our Videos

Basic Instincts of Self-Defense: Defenses Against Unarmed Attacks (DVD) focuses on quick, easy-to-learn defensive maneuvers based on natural, instinctive reactions. Learn how to defeat attackers that are stronger than you, ... and how to sharpen defensive reflexes. Increase your confidence and awareness to ward off or avoid potential attackers.”

Self-Defense for Women

“Your selection of techniques and graded advancement from armlocks to clinch and throws, from defenses against grabs and holds to defenses against punches and kicks are fantastic. Methodology and explanation, simplicity and practical approach is what I like about this tape.

“My experience in some other systems gives me the possibility to highly value your tape. I decided to include your basic idea into our training. It is an excellent link between Aikido techniques and practical self-defense.”

Ragib Karamehmedovic, Aikido (goshin) instructor, Sarajevo, Bosnia

"Self-Defense: Tools of Attack shows practice drills of an experienced street fighter. In many confrontations his techniques have never failed him. He shows what is real and how to practice with common street weapons. Observe him to learn the correct techniques and the training drills with a club, hatchet, blackjack, knife, and razor.

"The demonstrator spent most of his youth in East Europe's toughest correctional institutions—including a special prison where inmates were rehabilitated by systematic beatings and starvation. Afterwards he collected debts, settled scores, and provided personal protection in some of the worst neighborhoods of Eastern Europe. Through all the bloody fights he stayed unbeaten, in “one piece,” thanks to his rational technique and the intensity of his simple drills. This DVD shows the simple moves and simple drills that kept him winning every time.

“This an effective, deadly system of combat that should make the rest of fighting arts nervous.

“A shining example of creativity, ingenuity, skill, precision targeting and power. Rarely have I seen such efficient use of body mechanics or such mastery with common weapons. G. S. is truly a master. This hard hitting, street style of self-defense is real eye-opener to even those who have trained for many years.”

Terrance Rasmuson, 6th Dan JuJitsu, 4th Dan Tenshi Goju Karate, Edmonton, Alberta
